STATE Cinema in Grays. Sadly boarded up.

The olden days inside the beautiful Grays State Cinema, in its former glory.

The entrance to Grays State Cinema in a sorry state.

Whetherspoons pub ales on tap. Help yourself!

Grays 1938 State Cinema have [possible] renovation plans for its future. Underway [allegedly] are talks between Wetherspoons pub and Thurrock Council.

From the Enquirer: Council Leader, Cllr John Kent, said: “We have been involved in delicate and private negotiations between the owners of the State Cinema in Grays and potential new investors for a considerable time – years. “Those talks are continuing and are not yet finalised".

“We will of course now redouble our efforts to use our influence so the final plans reflect the best possible use for this iconic building, both for Grays and for the Borough as a whole.

The future of this beautiful building could be looking bright. We [at TEN-TV] think this would be good for Grays. We need more to do in Grays.

More at Your Thurrock.
