Marisco Hall was treated to a lunchtime recital on March 1st when Hannah Woolmer performed the violin accompanied by Liam Parradine on the bass trombone. A hush fell over the room as Hannah and Liam performed a mixture of classical favourites to Irish folk music to customers, staff and invited guests.
Among the highlights was ‘When the Saints Go Marching In’ performed by Liam and ‘Danny Boy’, ‘The Wind that Shakes the Barley’ and a song from the opera ‘Carmen’ performed by Hannah.
Following the recital everybody was treated to cream scones and a selection of cakes.
The response to the recital was overwhelmingly positive. Wanda said, “I enjoyed Carmen. We all did”. Wanda’s mother commented,” I thought the violinist was very good. I loved the Irish music.”
David, a keen fan of classical music, commented that “It was good!”
